As many of you have heard our spa is now open for facials, BOTOX® Cosmetic and fillers – additionally, you may have also heard of interactions with the COVID vaccine and fillers. I wanted to share some valuable information to keep you informed.
3 out of 15,000 people who had the Moderna® vaccine had some mild temporary swelling of their face. Of those patients who had a reaction, the type and brand of filler is unknown. No reports with filler and Pfizer® vaccine, with no other vaccine data available.
Currently, reaction to fillers after the administration of the COVID vaccine is very uncommon but treatable. Botox has not caused any problems with the vaccine. If you have had filler in the past, we encourage you to get vaccinated.
Other adverse reactions such as fever and discomfort can occur with any vaccine i.e. MMR, shingles, flu vaccine. We are encouraging patients to get vaccinated.
Lastly, I would like to update you on our policies here at NDCG medical spa. All of our providers and almost all of our office staff have been vaccinated or have antibodies/immunity.
All employees and visitors must wear a mask at all times unless instructed to remove it during treatment. No employees are allowed to come to work if they have any symptom of illness. We take temperatures at the front door of both employees and visitors and screen for exposure and symptoms, preventing people with active illness from entering. We are not having extraneous people in the office in order to decrease risk. We have moved chairs in the waiting room to be 6 feet apart.
Currently we are open and are practicing safely. If you have any questions feel free to contact us. Stay safe!
